This year for my holiday gift pick selections, I tried to choose some of my favorite things from around the shop that I think are either extremely unique or have been handmade. I know when I am trying to choose out presents for people at this time of the year, I am always worrying whether or not the recipient will already have whatever it is I am giving them, so if you have similar worries hopefully this list will give you some good gift ideas!

Medium Geometric Necklace
These new geometric necklace from ceramic artist Julie Moon come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colours. I personally think these are amazing because I have been a fan of Julie’s porcelain work for some time now, and really am excited that she is making accessories that are so different from the flower and poppy pieces that she is already so well known for. I think that because of their geometrically minimal design and handmade nature, this new series from Julie could appeal to almost anyone, even someone who doesn’t typically even wear a lot of jewelry.
Plants You Can’t Kill
Plants always make great gifts, especially for anyone who has just moved into a new home. These crocheted cacti from Toronto artist, Shannon Gerard are good for exactly these same reasons, but also have the added bonus of never needing to be watered! You can’t really go wrong with these just because they appeal on so many other levels as well: Plants You Can’t Kill would make a great gift for anyone who is interested in decorating or crafting, anyone who is familiar with Gerard other zine or print work, and also even for that someone you might know whofor whatever reason just can’t keep their plants alive.
Everything Together
Everything Together is a assembled collection of older short comics by Los-Angeles based artist, Sammy Harkham. Harkham has been making comics for awhile, but they have always been included in larger anthologies and never published all together (hence the title of the book). Harkham is best known for editing and creating a very notable one of these comics anthologies which is entitled Kramer’s Ergot. If you know anyone who is specifically a fan of Kramer’s Ergot or even just someone with an interest in zines and alternative comics then this is an absolute must-have for their collection.
