In 2012, our favourite artist duo Kozyndan exhibited at Narwhal (Magic Pony’s sister gallery) with Breaking Circles, Broken Light. The show expressed a deep connection to the beauty and presence of the animals we live amongst, our need to respect and appreciate their existence, and the creativity and the joy they inspire. It was a truly magical show, and one of our favourite parts of their exhibition were the incredible Narwhal sculptures they created in limited editions of eight.
If you’ve always wondered how a whale came into being with a single giant horn coming out of its head, the magical secret of the narwhal has been revealed by Kozyndan with these sculptures. Each sculpture speaks to the idea of evolution, species evolution, and the concurrent evolution of thought. Magic becomes Religion begets Science reveals the Magic inherent in the Universe.
We’re excited to announce that these sculptures are now available for purchase at Magic Pony Each sculpture is 24″ long x 4.5″ wide x 5.5″ high, resin cast, and comes with a detachable horn and pierced human figure and a plastic stand. Each of the five Narwhals were created as an edition of 8 and come with a hand signed certificate of authenticity. Here are some photographs of the 5 sculptures.
