Just over 2 years ago ROOKIE launched online and within six days the site hit one million page views. One year later the website published ROOKIE YEARBOOK ONE, its first print anthology of the best features from the sites first nine months of content. This October marks Rookies sophomore year in print, and the second anthology is filled with even more stunning visuals, stories and essays from artists such as Judy Blume, Grimes, and Lena Dunham, and deluxe extras!

ROOKIE combines personal stories from young girls, advice on style, sex, friends , school, humour and pathos, basically everything teenage girls think about. On our most recent visit to Rookie’s site, we had a video lesson in public speaking by feminist icon Kathleen Hanna, listened to a playlist inspired by the cult film Bring It On! and read a beauty guide on backne, butchness, and BS beauty standards.

On October 26th, Magic Pony will be celebrating ROOKIE Yearbook II with a book signing and Q&A with founder and editor-in-chief Tavi Gevinson, and a conversation on all things ROOKIE led by Sheila Heti, followed by a Halloween Dance Party.
