Undoubtedly, Fjällräven is the premier outdoors company. They are most well known for their bag line, Kanken, which has maintained a streamline nordic design for almost half a century. Kanken Classic, which is available in an incredible array of hues, was originally designed for children. But this outdoors-quality bag has made its way into everyday fashion. I am in love with the bag’s most striking design: the logo. The fox emblem is endearing and evokes a cute-centric Nordic aesthetic. The boxiness of the bag is not only practical—especially when you are a student like me—but it is uniquely versatile and is not bulky like other bags. I feel comfortable wearing this bag with a dress or a pair of jeans. Personally, I think the best available colour is the Navy Classic Kanken. One of their oldest colours, it honestly goes with everything. It’s such a popular colour that even on Fjällräven’s website, you have to reserve the Navy Classic Kanken.

In a time when Herschel and Jansport bags are everywhere, the reputation and quality of Fjällräven stands out. Whenever someone I know is looking for a backpack, I always insist that they invest in a Kanken.
