Lunch Time!!! But don’t let the To-fu heads hear you.
Take one look at these little square headed people and your first reaction is probably something like ” He’s so cute!! But why is he so concerned looking? “
Meet the TO-FU, a deliciously adorable character from five man Tokyo design studio Devilrobots. Their creator, Shinichiro Kitai entered a character design competition with this figure. He started simply, with the large square head and space suit body (because well, what is more simple than a 6 sided head in space!) and added more unique characteristics. This brings us back to his face, for some reason he looks troubled.
To-fu is very nervous, because it knows their heads will break if they fall. What is white and square and soft? To-fu!
TO-FU was given a side kick, a smaller version of the original which began to look like a mother and a son, who became the team TO-FU OYAKO.
Now there are over 100 different TO-FU Heads characters and the number keeps growing. The TO-FU’s are taking over everything we know. Cell phone charms, pillows, luggage tags, and the TO-FU family is very happy to have your support. With one of their most recent characters Supporto-fu, all of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Singapore Red Cross for the 2011 Japan Disaster Relief Fund. They say ” Arigato-Fu!!! ” ( Arigato + To-Fu )
