Narwhal is pleased to present View Point Geon, new work by Alvaro Ilizarbe, Matthew Feyld, and Paul Wackers. Working within the frameworks of contemporary painting and sculpture, each artist contributes to a visual consonance through the process of articulating environments, form, and situations.

Observing the interplay between positive and negative forms, Matthew Feyld’s (Montreal) paintings connote dimensional space with deceptively uncomplicated arrangements of line and form. Through the process of reduction and spatial distortion, Alvaro Ilizarbe’s (Los Angeles) amorphous sculptural wall reliefs delineate an observed natural world. Paul Wackers’ (New York) portrays a quiet solitude, intimately engaging with the metaphysical propositions of the still life through painting and sculpture. Filtering the visual information of the quotidian, and translating it into their work, familiar settings are reduced, layered, inverted and amalgamated, offering three individual outlooks on our perceived surroundings.
