Inspired by the crossover of high and low pop-culture, the first series of Be@rbricks premiered in Tokyo, Japan in 2001 from MediCom Toy. As one of the first platform toys, it took the form of a 9 piece articulated anthropomorphized bear with an extremely simplified form and a pot belly. The name Be@rbrick is strange - people often wonder what the “at” sign represents. It’s used as a visual inspiration that creates an instant trademark; connecting you to the bears signature style as soon as you read the name.

The blind box series are traditionally released as 100% size figures (7cm tall) and focuses on specific styles: Basic, Jellybean, Pattern, Flag, Horror, Science Fiction, Cute, Animal, Artist and the new category, Hero. Be@rbrick also releases larger collaborations, from 400% (28 cm), which is the perfect to put on the self and the giant 1000% (70 cm), the size of your new bear best friend!
