Our plushy food pals Lemmy Lemonade, Mindi Mint, Flaco Taco, Bonny Box Melon, and Paulina, Petey, Pauly and Peah Pods recently landed in Toronto and we spent some time showing them around the city, introducing them to a few of our favourite snack shacks, bakeries, and food markets.  Here are some highlights from our Toronto Yummy World Tour!

Yummy Lemonade La Cubana Magic Pony

LA CUBANA, RONCESVALLES

Lemmy Lemonade loves to chill you know? And we do too! One of our regular hang outs just around the corner from our Magic Pony + Narwhal HQ is La Cubana, a super cute Cuban diner in Ronscesvalles. Delicious sandwiches and pastel perfect soda pops. Nothing better than chilling with new friends on a lazy summer day.

THE CANDY BAR, DUNDAS WEST

Mindi Mint, what a dream. Everything seems fresh when this peppermint delight is around. We weren’t sure if Mindi conjured them or if she hypnotized us with her swirls but we found ourselves at a magical candy party full of peppermint pals when we arrived at The Candy Bar. We love this candy confectionery where sweet adventures begin with imported British treats and Toronto artisanal chocolate and ice cream.

Yummy Taco, Seven Lives, Kensington Market Toronto

SEVEN LIVES, KENSINGTON MARKET

Toronto is the unofficial Taco capital of Canada, we can’t seem to get enough of this perfect snack food. There are so many yummy taco pit stops across the city, but Flaco Taco bonded with Seven Lives Tacos in Kensington Market - fresh, spicy, savoury, delicious! We have a feeling one of their secrets is the access to fresh ingredients: Kensington Market is full of independent produce vendors: local butchers, bakers, cheese shops, fish marts and a bounty of fresh veggie and fruit markets - where Bonny Box Melon Yummy plush also met some kindred spirits.

FARMERS MARKETS, EVERYWHERE!

Paulina, Petey, Pauly and Peah Pods captured hearts and hugs at our local farmer’s market. Summer in Canada brings so many incredible foods from nature and we love the local farmers who take such good care of the land and bring us fresh and delicious magic from their gardens. We are super lucky to be right around the corner from the Sorauren Farmers Market Toronto that happens every Monday and we also love visiting Dufferin Grove’s Market Toronto in the summer. It’s all about sharing the positive vibes and green goodness. Peas + love ❤
